Accessing Library Resources Online: On-Campus and Off-Campus via OpenAthens

This guide will provide users with information on how to access the library's online resources, while on campus or off campus.

OpenAthens

Blanche Skiff-Ross Memorial Library now uses OpenAthens, a user authentication and e-resources access system that acts as a gateway to digital resources licensed by Ross Memorial Library. 

OpenAthens allows for greater flexibility in providing access to different user groups, better account security and usage data, and single sign-on for access. 

What will change?

  • The sign-in process to access resources off campus will look a little different for users.
  • Previously saved links will need to be updated. 
  • Anyone who was using an account on individual platforms will need to make note of the merging process outlined in this guide.
